Auditions are held in mid July (virtual submissions are available for those with conflicts), and actors are expected to come to the first rehearsal off-book. Learn Through Performing

An upcoming show creates a unique context for learning. Even the best classes can't give you a full understanding of what it's like to be on stage, because applying your knowledge once the lights come up is a separate skill of its own. With performances to look forward to and a clock ticking towards the end of the week, cast members keep each others' motivation high. You'll find that you're truly driven to bring your best to each day.

Put Skills In Context

Our acting lessons, voice lessons, and general theater camps work to hone students' skills. However, the unique challenge of musical theater lies in using all those skills at once. Performance Camp at Broadway Theater Workshops is an experience which will give you real-life practice in contextualizing everything you've learned to create a seamless whole production. As we move from script to stage in about two weeks, you'll explore your character, perfect your songs, master choreography, and nail down blocking.

Prepare Professionally

Our directors and coaches, noted for their Broadway experience, will help you develop dynamic acting and singing skills. Beyond that, however, the short timeframe of our Broadway show camp is a unique type of preparation for the atmosphere of professional shows. In the world of professional theater, rehearsal timings are often tight, and cast members spend full days together. By mirroring these aspects of professional settings, Performance Camp primes you for fast-paced learning and good working relationships with your fellow cast members. All our summer camps create the opportunity to form theater-based friendships, but a performance particularly requires everyone to work together as a cast. Practicing professionalism and valuing everyone's contributions create an environment where the show can succeed.

Get Cast

Being comfortable with auditions is a key skill in musical theater. Signing up for our summer theater camp guarantees you a part, though, so there's no need to fear rejection during our audition process. At Broadway Theater Workshops, we conduct auditions in order to assign roles. We also practice double-casting for leads, which extends opportunities to more students.
