In this three week class, high school students will work in depth on musical theater repertoire that will stretch them as artists with help from Broadway actor Adam Halpin. Students will be asked to bring in material of their choosing and will also have material assigned to them by Adam.
Adam Halpin (he/him) made his Broadway debut in the short-lived Glory Days and is currently heard in the virtual ensemble of Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway and the National Tour. Adam was in the original company of Dogfight Off-Broadway, the NY premiere of Daddy Long Legs (available to stream on Broadway HD), and the Broadway Tour and Off-Broadway productions of Rent. Other tours include the Tony Award-winning Come From Away and Kinky Boots. Favorite regional productions include Chess at The Kennedy Center, The Last 5 Years at Long Wharf, City of Angels at Theatre Raleigh, The Music Man at The Muny, Triangle at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, and Forever Plaid at Pittsburgh CLO. On Film and TV, The Greatest Showman, "Quantico", "The 90th Academy Awards", "After Forever", and Estella Scrooge. Adam is featured on the Original Cast Recordings & Film Soundtracks of Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, Dear Evan Hansen, In The Heights, The Greatest Showman, Dogfight, and Glory Days.

Owner and lead instructor of Janel’s Dance Arts Fusion in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, Janel is thrilled to be a part of the BTW staff this season! She has fond memories of performing in the SJR productions of Footloose, Pippin, Les Miserables and The Prince and the Pauper during her own high school years at Immaculate Heart Academy. Janel went on to Muhlenberg College, where she earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance and Certification in Elementary Education. Along with her performance experience in college, she was given the opportunity to choreograph several student dance concerts. She was President of the Muhlenberg Dance Association, became an instructor for the Muhlenberg Community Dance Center and was inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society. After college, Janel enjoyed opportunities that allowed her to perform, choreograph and teach. She performed at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2014 and the Bruno Mars Super Bowl Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium. She has been a member of the dance fusion company, Bollywood Funk NYC, and was a dancer/choreographer for the Gotham City Cheerleaders.
She has also choreographed the BTW productions of Godspell, She Loves Me,The Drowsy Chaperone and Mamma Mia! and the SJR production of The Addams Family and Mystic Pizza. Her proudest achievement came seven years ago when she opened her dance studio, Janel’s Dance Arts Fusion. As a member of the teaching staff at Maugham Elementary in Tenafly, NJ as well, Janel is happy to share her two passions of dance and teaching with the students and staff at BTW!
